Brad Zinn - Biography
Brad Zinn is one of the most sought after comedy magic entertainers in his field. Brad's background in acting and comedy make his performances a cut above the average entertainer. Brad adds elements of storytelling, magic, impressions, audience participation, and music to make his act absolutely unique.
Turning professional full time in 1975, Brad Zinn pursued acting and magic careers simultaneously for the next ten years. However, the entertaining arts became all consuming and the acting career was all but eclipsed by his success in legerdemain.
Magical comedian Brad Zinn is now regularly engaged by major cruise lines, fundraising organizations, hotels, and corporate meeting planners across the United States and Canada as a comedian, magician, impressionist, and as a Master of Ceremonies.
His engagements have taken him to England to appear at the world famous London Palladium, around the world on Holland America, Radisson, Orient, and Norwegian Cruise Lines, and to headline the historic theatres across the USA.
In December 1995 he made his first appearance in the Dominican Republic and headlined with the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra. Brad was also honored by the City Of Phoenix to be the first magician to appear at the city's newly restored Orpheum Theater. He returned there in 2002 for a standing room only performance of his show "The Great Comedians."
Brad has performed with many celebrities, including Dick Van Dyke, Shirley Jones, Cliff Robertson, Paul Rodriguez, Damon Wayans, Will Shriner, Richard Crenna, Justin Wilson (the Cajun Chef), Harry Anderson, Marty Allen, and Lynda Carter, among others.
Brad Zinn is also recognized as a media consultant for advertisers, industrial accounts and other performers. His work has been published in various trade periodicals and he is currently writing his first major book on the entertainment industry.
Brad, a performing member of Hollywood's prestigious Magic Castle, boasts appearances on the Las Vegas "strip" as well. His experiences include video production, event production, advertising, custom lyric writing and you may recognize his voice from the hundreds of radio and TV commercials he has recorded, or from the six films in which he has appeared. Brad also hosted his own cable talk show "The New Variety Arts" for two years. This show, seen in the Valley of the Sun and Prescott, resulted in a full page spread in the Arizona Republic newspaper.
Brad's accomplishments have been acknowledged in "Who's Who in Entertainment," "Who's Who in the World," and "International Men of Achievement."
Brad is a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians (the exclusive 'Order of Merlin Shield'), the Society of American Magicians (founded by Harry Houdini), the Hollywood Magic Castle, Screen Actors Guild, American Federation of Radio and Television Artists and other organizations.
Brad Zinn is currently involved in a diverse array of activities. In addition to performing his comedy, impressions, magic, emceeing for major functions, and keeping his hand in video production, he is also booking other novelty and variety artists through Brad Zinn Entertainment Enterprises.
Brad has studied bel-canto voice for over a dozen years and is adding singing as a high lyric baritone to his list of credits. Brad Zinn is a versatile and seasoned entertainer who literally has "done it all," and continues to find new ways to present his talents.
Brad Zinn was named “Magician of the Year for 2000” by the International Brotherhood of Magicians Phoenix Ring 55 and the Society of American Magicians Scottsdale Assembly 248, at their annual Holiday Banquet, December 13, 2000. It came as a complete surprise to Brad, a past president of Ring 55 and past vice-president of Assembly 248. The current boards of the two organizations agree on the recipient in advance and the honor is bestowed at the annual combined banquet. Past recipients have included well known Valley magicians Michael Finney and Andre Kole. Most recipients of the honor have known in advance, but for Andre Kole in 1997 and Brad Zinn in 2000, the award was announced as a surprise.
After acting as the master of ceremonies for the banquet, Brad was called back to the stage by Ring 55 President Gene Urban and Assembly 248 President Herb Easley, and the plaque was presented. The plaque reads, “Society of American Magicians Assembly #248, International Brotherhood of Magicians Ring #55, do hereby congratulate and honor as Magician of the Year, Brad Zinn. Recognizing his many years of devotion to the magical arts as a performer, a mentor to others, and as a member of the fraternity of magic who has demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism. Presented this 13th day of December, 2000.” The award topped off the 25th Anniversary year of Brad Zinn Entertainment Enterprises.
In December 2016, Society of American Magicians Assembly #248 awarded Brad their "Lifetime Achievement Award." The plaque reads "Brad Zinn, In honor of your lifetime of service to Magic, the Andre Kole Society of American Magicians Assembly 248 proudly present the Lifetime Achievement Award.
